33 Fainting Spells

Presented by Dance Umbrella August 1-4, 2002

Created and performed by Hanson and Hanson with Peggy Piacenza, Dirty Work investigates the notion that the act of performance occupies a perilous junction between the sacred and the profane. Inspired by sources ranging from Chekhov's Swansong to Roger Whittaker's "New World in the Morning," 33 Fainting Spells creates in Dirty Work a tawdry stage context in which low-fidelity media equipment - school issue record players, used projection screens - becomes a lens for the viewing of 21st century performance.
What Other People Said About Dirty Work:

- Elizabeth Zimmer, The Village Voice
