"The most honest performance to be seen in Madrid
this season" -Revista Diagonal

Choreographer Sňnia Gómez is known for bringing her personal experiences to the stage with honesty and boldness and in “Mi Madre y Yo” she shares the stage with her mother Rosa Vicente. Set to the music of The Beach Boys, Tina Turner and Kraftwerk, “Mi Madre y Yo” (in Spanish with English subtitles) incorporates text, movement and video projections with theatrical flare to portray the sometimes difficult, absurd, generous and tender moments of an intimate relationship between daughter and mother.

Born and raised in Barcelona, Sňnia Gómez studied contemporary dance and choreography at the Theater Institute of Barcelona and at Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker‘s P.A.R.T.S. school of dance in Brussels, Belgium. She performed among others with La Carniceria Teatro and Fura del Baus before collaborating with several artists including Chicks on Speed, Juango Sáez and Sergi Fäustino. Since 2004, Sňnia has been developing her own projects, having brought to the stage in Barcelona and on tour elsewhere in Europe, several multi-media works including “Mi Madre y Yo”.

The performance will be Friday, May 8th and Saturday, May 9th in the Rollins Studio Theatre at the Long Center for the Performing Arts, 701 W Riverside Drive. Advance tickets are $12 Members, Students & Seniors and $15 General Admission. At the Door $15 Members, Students and Seniors and $18 General Admission (additional service charges will apply).
